Lindeman Island

Lindeman Island Club Med resort, Whitsundays

Update: Club Med have announced that the resort will close on January 31st 2012. More information to follow…

Lindeman Island is one of the more popular Whitsunday Islands and accommodation is available at the Club Med resort. It’s fair to say the resort is best suited to families and less so to anyone seeking a intimate romantic getaway or a peaceful secluded break.

This is due largely to the communal nature of the resort’s dining and entertainment facilities, and it’s popularity with family groups can mean others find it less enjoyable.

The island itself has the usual Whitsundays charms and attractions: the soft sandy beaches and inviting blue waters are just part of the appeal. The protected tropical flora and native wildlife make Lindeman Island an enchanting paradise to explore.

Lindeman Island Club Med Resort
A mid-range resort in a perfect location, with all the facilities and activities most could wish for, and it is certainly a good choice for anyone who is travelling with children. It is not a luxury resort, but can be considered comfortable and reasonably priced.

Club Med is particularly popular with families due to so many activities being available, so much being included in the package and of course the Kids Clubs mean the children are entertained and having fun while parents get a chance to relax and enjoy the island and their hard-earned break for themselves.

The accommodation and service are good, the views are stunning and Club Med include so much in their package deals that you are assured of what you paid for. The Lindeman Island Club Med packages mean you can enjoy your holiday without having to worry about endless expenses and running up a massive bill, and concentrate on having fun instead.

Included in the package at no further charge are your choice of three meals a day from an impressive local and international menu, drinks (including wine, beer, cocktails and spirits), a wide range of activities including golf (a fantastic nine hole course), windsurfing, sailing, diving, tennis and a lot more.

The resort staff really go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying your stay and provide great shows and entertainment in the evenings that is highly praised by guests. However, if you don’t like the resort’s entertainment you will have to make your own.

The island is particularly good for walks, with more than 20 kilometres of walking tracks providing access to some of the island’s more hidden charms. Mount Oldfield provides some spectacular views, and Butterfly Valley is not to be missed.

You can often spot dolphins from the island all year round, and during certain months (usually between July and November) you may even be lucky enough to catch sight of a Humpback whale. Resort staff can advise you of the best places to view from.

When you consider what you get as standard with your package that other resorts charge you for, staying at Lindeman Island Club Med Resort means a wonderful tropical island holiday at a very reasonable price.
