Airlie Beach Nightlife

Magnums bar nighttime shot Airlie Beach
Airlie Beach nightlife has become one of the town’s biggest draws for many visitors, and you certainly have a decent selection of places to dance (and drink) the night away if that’s what you’re looking for. And we know it is : )

Here we’ll take a look at some of the most popular bars in Airlie Beach.

With six bars Magnums is the biggest venue in town, and one of if not the busiest too with it’s popular beer garden. There is a busy sports bar with plenty of television screens for keeping up with all the latest sporting fixtures and four pool tables for you to use. There is also the Party Bar which regularly features Australian and international live acts and DJs. Magnum’s is located right in the centre of town – you can’t miss it.

Another popular venue with a busy beer garden, Beaches is big enough to cater to up to 800 revelers at a time. There are big-screen TVs a bistro, a decent sound system and a dance floor to get down on. A great place to meet friends and make some new ones. Located bang in the town’s centre and another venue that’s hard to miss.

Mama Africas
This popular Airlie Beach nightclub can actually be a good place to lounge around in- until it packs out in the early hours anyway. Decorated with an African theme as you might expect and it features good music, cocktails, dancing: in other words a good night out.

The Juice Bar
Another nightclub with DJs playing dance music, the Juice Bar has a nice atmosphere and a cool chill out area. Unlike some of the other places in town you are less likely to overheat here when it gets busy, which is definitely a big plus. Not the biggest but one of the best.

Down Under Bar (formerly Morocco’s)
Another popular place with backpackers looking to enjoy a drink or two. The Down Under Bar was formerly known as “Morocco’s” but has been taken over by the Base Backpackers company. There is a nice outdoor dining area and it has lots of eat and drink specials.

Paddy’s Shenanigans Irish Bar
Would Airlie Beach really be complete without it’s very own Irish bar? To be honest: yes, but what the hell, it’s a pretty friendly place with live music and the bar for savouring a nice pint (or two). Also on the main strip, just down from Beaches and Magnums.

If you are staying in town you are probably going to end up in a few (or most) of these places. Have fun, and please take care of yourself and others.
